if you go back to the guys quote, the mechanic said drive "harder" not "faster"... i will admit that harder in a wrx or sti would have to be limited to 1st and 2nd before you start breaking speed limits

rough idle happens on mine every few months, but a can of Upper Engine Cleaner in the manifold and bottle of subi fuel additive in the tank and it goes away again...

on a new 07... first service... no idea.

Doesnt hurt to run injector cleaner every now and then either. Vortex 98 not available in WA.

I think most cars run better on 98 than 95, the higher the RON the better especially with turbos.

As someone said tho if its a company car , who cares ?

The one you pay 8-9 cents/litre extra for when you buy BP Ultimate.

Seriously why bother with injector cleaner if your running a fuel with cleaning additives in it already.

I Think you will find that WRX or STI has been tuned to run on 98 RON, which means BP Ultimate. The 3-4 WRX's that i have filled up have all had requires 98 RON on the fuel door. However if you don't want to run 98 RON then you should have it retuned to take super unleaded...

Sorry guys,
bit of research on my part - both Vortex and Ultimate are 98 RON.....she asks for premium unleaded on the fuel door so thats what she gets - oh and although she is a company car we get the option to buy her after 2 years ($24,000!!!!) so don't want to trash her.

If you get a chance to do a novated lease and you do +25,00K's, have a look.

The one I was more concerned about was the other noise, is anyone experiencing some noise from the engine - its not big ends or anything like that. I have never had a Petrol turbo car and I can hear a slight intermittent noise from her - it could be the wastegate or something more sinister, usualy at idle and up until 2,000rpm a slight sshh kind of noise!! then disapates away. Happens intermittently as well.....
