Should i buy the aluminium box?
Was also looking at the ARC induction box, but that's damn pricey.
I had the same dilemma. In speaking with ASG, putting a pod on would require a retune on my 05Sti. I went for an Apexi panel filter instead. Can't feel any difference on the road but I'm sure it's higher flowing than the standard element.

Huy, the apexi pod we had was pretty useless in the engine, just sucked in so much hot air and the box is too thin to eve bother with, just get an in guard filter, thatll be far better like Process West which can be bought from Tenagah for about 200 bucks from memory

I'll look into it. What does the PW intake look like?

Basically the same as an APS job except painted grey alloy pipe into guard.
Lots of induction noise for you ricer boy. I'm running the K&N filter as the Unifilter did not appeal to me after Jaron saw how much oil got squeezed out of it.

Removed the resonator yet? I get plenty of induction noise with just that and stock airbox/filter.

Want to know what we commonly call the HKS filters?

HKS rock catcher, thats all they will do. Very free flowing.

Your gains have come due to another variant.

Not yet. I drove Dan's car (which has the resonator out) and it sounded good, but i want it louder.

Al - Cool mate. I just saw a pic on rexnet with the Unifilter and thought it looked a bit cheap/nasty. I love rice man, i can't help it, i'm azn! Haha.

Mate, from my recent experience I would go a decent panel filter and resonectomy, cheap, tidy and you'll get some ricer biz.....

There is nothing wrong with the Newer HKS filter...they are triple core and they do filter quite well! The one most people on here are referring to are the the older HKS type - which were crap...I don't know if you can buy them anymore.
