Sounds like its 'hunting'. Mine was doing this when the weld around the sensor in my dump pipe split and a small hole appeared.. Got that seen to and fixed quick smart.

Yeh maybe the rev limiter is set too low, it actually bounces off the limiter then calms down after 20-30 seconds. How often do you guys get your cars tune checked or retuned or just when you think it needs it?

I wouldnt of though a computer could 'lose its tune'. If its anything like a normal computer you'd think it would store it as memory and unless it was reset or needed to be retuned for modifications. Having said that, i should go get mine looked over and made sure its all good at some stage.

hmm, I also have this. Revs to about 2k when cold, then settles to about 800 when it warms up.

Normal. Up to around 2k at initial start up, settles at around 1500rpm, dropping to below 1000rpm once at operating temp.

i believe when i had my bug, during cold start it was around 2k and eventually go down to 700-900...

i have a stock ecu in the bug and on cold starts it rev's upto around 2000rpm, i just give it a quick rev and it drops down to arount 1300 rpm untill its warm
