Motec install for VQ Statesman
Can anybody recommend a workshop to install and tune a Motec unit for a VQ Statesman?
I know of all the usual suspects for JDM cars, but was hoping someone could recommend a holden specialist. I have searched some of the commonwhore forums, but I wanted to slit my wrists after about 5 minutes (they make you appreciate the layout and organisation of this forum....) so I would be grateful for any suggestions. Thanks Tom |

Could try Bill Lee, he has the rights to HDT in WA and would have all the right gear.
I've only had to deal with him once, but google him, he's pretty well known.

They do motec and work on a range of cars from turbo Daihatsus to V8s. |

Thanks for your input guys.
I did a google search for Bill Lee, there was a crapload of negative comments about him. It wasn't really his knowledge in question, but his work ethic, attitude and general service. What were your dealings with him marc? was he ok? or was he a tossbag? West racing was the immediate choice, but just looking to see if there are any other options. |

All I'll say is for the price that was charged, the condition the spoiler came to us in, and the effort it was going to turn out to rectify what we didnt like, it was easier to inform the client, and undertake the repairs ourselves. Just wanted to put it out there for you mate, as a mate used him, and was impressed with what was achieved

ASG can do MoTeC for any car and have done work on a fair few Holdens and Fords with MoTeC and other ecu's. Rob does great wiring work there and of course Sean would be tuning it for them... as mentioned above, MoTeC can even make up a custom loom to suit your needs, but not sure how cost effective it is?? Have a chat to the boys and see what ideas they come up with for you.
Sorry to slako lovers out there, but my confidence in their work on anything is pretty low from many cars including some people's from this forum where workmanship and just having a general clue of how things work has dropped my opinion of them in general.

Personally i rekon Slako seems good on naturally aspirated V8's. (Vast experience) But I woudlnt take forced induction car there. Just my opinion of course. I think Sean at ASG is well proven tuning forced induction. (and NA as well)
