Exactly, the only valid argument is that you like it, or don't like it.
Simple as that.

Everything else is just emotional nonsense.

Exactly, stop having hissy fits because you didnt get your way. I didnt want it, but I wouldnt be spending my time insulting those who voted yes if the referendum went the other way. Its a personal oinion/preference and thats it. People have their reasons for it and not everyone has the same lifestyle as you.

Queensland doesnt have it either, so we arent the only ones.

There really isn't any legal obligation for the government to abide by the results of a referendum anyway.

I'd much rather they brought in DLS without consulting anyone, and the endless Emoness, (on both sides) and had a referendum on whether to hang Grant Dorrrington instead.

What do people think about how often the referendum should be held?

What I mean is: times change. New generations of people come through all the time. I think they should hold the referendum every 20-25 years to guage what the new breed of people want, rather than just say "ok, we've done it four times, let's never do it again".

What do you guys recken?

I agree, we should also have a referendum about womens rights because hey, times have changed since they got equal rights.

I can see this tread getting locked pretty quick with comments like this

Grew up with DLS in SA and do admit I thought it was great as a kid but now working in the mining industry and the shift change over times it just works better without it and I prefer it to be dark and cooling down for most of the things I get up to in the evenings.

Doing the 13 1/2 hour shift when changing back to real time on nightshift sux chocolate salty balls
