Ok well two weeks have passed since I bought the vertical bracket for the my radar detector (Escort 8500 X50). I honestly can't say I have noticed any difference because there seems to be stuff all multinovas being used in town. I have been checking the papers for locations everyday and they seem to have moved them to the country a lot more. There is supposed to be one on Kings Park Rd West Perth today but I have yet to see it. I was hoping to do another trial for vertical vs horizontal position. Guess I should be happy I haven't come across any lately.

I have a verticle bracket now in my car and it made a difference the other day, it picked up a laser signal at a distance, it possibly saved me from getting caught as I approached and saw the Police vest light up in the night time. Would like other people's thoughts also and if it's made a real difference.

Isn't the vertical bracket only meant to help you with the multinovas and not the lasers?

I haven't like Dave driven by or seen a multinova for a while in the City since installing the verticle bracket but it certainly helped with the laser detection. It also looks heaps better in the car as well.

Yeah, VB shouldnt make a dick of difference to laser. Your generally already caught by the time you get a laser reading on most detectors.

Yeah laser is generally a warning when it's already too late... though saying that i managed a bit of "late braking" the other day on mounts bay road to avoid a couple motorbike cops on the side of the road. Though he did give me a cheeky grin when i went by

The bracket will only increase warning on (Ka-band) Multanova not K-band highway patrol (dash mounted) or laser.

As mentioned above, a "laser alert" usually means you just got done (if you're speeding). If you want to improve your warning on laser then you can add Veil to your headlights / fog lights & number plate it will increase your warning time on laser - when used in conjunction with a radar detector.
