I went to John Septimus Roe (private) which is in mirrabooka but there is a bus that goes to ballajura or Ballaz as us locals like to call it haha..

mate, ballaz isnt to bad, i would go a lil further north to darch, landsdale or alexander heights, prob a bit less fukwits runnin around doing dodgy shit, few dodgy crew come outa that area, go john septimus roe highschool aswell, one of cheapest private schools and great school.. ohh and buy my house is alexander heights...

Ballajura is a good suburb but you have to bear in mind it's the largest suburb population wise in Perth ( over 7,000 people). You are bound to get the bad eggs in any suburb but Ballajura has a larger chance.
LakeSHORE , not Lakeside is the supposed ritzier area and has a reasonable low crime rate due to limited through traffic.

North Ballajura is ok but is the original area hence the houses are older.

Reason I know?? I have lived in Ballajura all my married life( and that has been a while

) and we have changed houses 5 times, 3 inside Lake shore and 2 outside.
It has always boasted 20 mins form anywhere ( anywhere decent that is, SOR doesn't count ). That is 20 mins to the beach, the hills or central town.

Let the flame war begin.

The area has improved greatly over the last few years. It was viewed as a rather horrible area for a while there, but it does have a few nice pockets. The guys within the area would be able to give you better guidance on particular streets there, but it's not the sort of area I would invest nor purchase in.
