Default Air con/ split system

Looking for a decent 7kw or so split system, can anyone recommend any brands?

Looking for reliable inverter/reverse cycle split system, I need a good sleep!

Ran a search and the last post of this type was from 2006.

Can't go wrong with Daikin gear.

Have a 2.5 KW ducted upstairs and 2.5 split downstairs. Neither of them have ever missed a beat, quiet and fairly cheep to run.

Know quite a few others that have had them and no one has had any trouble from them either.

7 KW is pretty huge might be worth looking at a multi split system. 1 outside unit that runs 3 or 4 smaller inside unit. Will get a better spread of cool/warm air especialy if it is to cover multiple rooms.

I have a Daikin FTXD80B (Cooling Capacity 8.0kW) and it does the whole house.
Ceiliing insulation is highly recommended.

My old house, I bought one of those Artcool LGs. They look great on your wall, almost like a feature! I bought it from Rick Hart, but got a print out of a price on the internet and they matched it, so saved $200. They do a range of HPs. You probably have to pay a little bit more than a cheapo white one, but as I said they look good and are v quiet.

This is my area of expertise people, I'm a qualified refigeration mechanic by trade but now work as a project supervisor for one of perths larger aircon companys. Daiken is the best for sure but you pay for it, panasonic, fujitsu, hitachi and LG are all recomended.

Q. What makes a good aircon???

A. How cheap they are to run...and...how quite they are.

If its for your bedroom spend the extra cash otherwise it wont be the heat keeping you up all night but the noise!!!

Best bet is to go to Rick Hart, Harvey Norman the big electrical companys will give you the best deal for domestic units.

Goodluck finding someone to install it at the moment though, with the weather we have been having atm every installer is charging top dollar and booked out for weeks.

PM if you want to know anything more.
