i think i saw on the Mitchell freeway today, they had errected the stand for one of the new "fixed" camera's... be interesting to see where they all go... End up like syd and bris... everyone does 110 most of the time, and slows down to 95-100 about 100m before the camera

I love how it's always Monash University that presents the data in favour of more speed cameras blah blah blah. Guess where Monash get their funding from?

Ide love fixed cameras on the freeway! aslong as they dont use normal ones aswell taken from old episode of topgear, In Holland they buy that expanding foam and fill them with the stuff haha you cant tell from the outside.

All WA redlight cameras can measure your speed already, that's why they take 2 pictures. They know your speed by how far away you are in the second pic. First pic shows whether it's your front or back wheels on the line.

Something that I often wondered was if you get your pic taken 3 times in a row on say the Mitchell freeway, Why is that 3 separate offences? Surely it's just 3 pieces of evidence on the same offence. If the cameras are hidden (ie; no notification that you have offended) you could potentially rack up thousands of dollars in fines without being aware of any offence. It often takes up to 5 months to send out the notification.
To take this to an extreme, (perhaps some law talking guy can enlighten us) lets say you have some dope growing in your backyard. Each day the police lean over your fence and secretly photograph your plants. Then 5 months later you get 150x fines for growing dope. How is this different?

I've been told people have lost their licenses before when multiple multanovas were set up on 1 road.

It is reaching stupidity now.
