Hmm.. More tests? etc? Look at what us P platers have to do to get our licences now than what you ladies and gentlemen had to do back in the days.

We do more than you.

But. Were less experienced of course as we havnt been driving for 20 years and havnt seen what can happen and how it happens blah blah, but we learn.

I almost had a crash today driving in a 60 zone in Busso, (me in right lane and car in left) i was just less than parralel with a car driving, and someones pulled out from the left with out seeing me. I saw the lady and hit the brakes, she was in the wrong but we get called hoons and shit drivers?

I'm almost off mine anyway so i wont get "branded" anymore

Flame suit on.

Man the tests over here are rediculous, they are so easy. You dont get taught how to drive here, you just get taught how to pass your test. I was learning in the UK and was no where near ready to pass my test and yet as soon as i came here i had one lesson and he booked me in for my test.

Mini head on with F250, Land Cruiser, Pajero, Triton etc...no fatalities there.

Umm, dude, the answer to the problem is education and yes, doing more tests.

P platers dont have to do much to be given the ability to hurl a 2 ton piece of metal around at high speeds, and most dont respect just how dangerous cars can be.

When you look around at some the driving that is commited in Perth it truly makes you realise just how easily we are given our licenses and i think you'll find the people who've been driving for 20 years came from a time where people were a little more sensible and had respect for being behind the wheel of a car, unlike kids now days

Well I was havin a look see on the ol' Aust Transport Safety Bureau site today and it would seem the majority of west. aust. lives lost on the road in the year to sept 2007 were in the 25-34 age bracket followed by the 55+..... then the 18-24 which would be the P platers. The 18-24 bracket had a 23% drop on the year before with the 25-34 recording an 84% rise.... shit maybe they should take my wrx away.
