Oh well in any case im three tracks into it before I thought there must be something wrong with my system... so i switched over to BLACK and lo and behold the sound stage and dynamics were back baby! So I have to say this new album FUCKING SUCKS BALLS!!11 what a bunch of cunts, ruining my music! fancy using ipod headphones to tune a song.

If you think im joking do an A / B comparison of BLACK and MAGNETIC without touching your levels :P (be careful you might just kill the cat if you have black at proper levels and then go to magnetic as the levels are just that pushed.)

I really wish they did go back to basics, such as quality mastering with properly represented dynamics of instruments but oh well everyone with ipods will think it sounds better.

All well and good. I know of what you speak, grasshopper.....but please remember you have aquired a file(s) from a torrent site and quality is dubious at best in the first place. Artificially enhancing the music to 320kbps does exactly what you have just posted about.

easynews has got a clean copy i think - listening to it now it sounds very clear.

btw this album fucking rocks so far!

Maybe they will release a blue ray version, or a record with preserved dynamics.

I really don't get why they don't just put a proper cd version out and in the back of the cd chuck some shitty mp3's, how hard would that be?

The sad thing is you can hear its rather good musically, but there is no way to un fuck the wavs

Its not compression as such causing this problem at all.

It means that every single sound is the same volume, there is no quiet sounds so there can be no loud sounds as a result because everything is the same, so there is no chance of having drums accurately represented for example. I picked it right away when i was wondering where the fuck the kick drum was

It is possible the release version isn't broken, but I don't see why a guy ripping the CD and putting it onto the net at 320kb is going to normalise the record to high fucking heaven for.

Sigh, the releases out are some shitty transcode which is causing all you audiophiles to complain. Wait till the CD comes out and then make your calls rather than what some 15 year old kid has released to mininova.
