Default 10% more power, 10% less weight, 10% better braking or 10% better grip?

Hi,

Just tossing this Q around with a few mates tonight. I know that there is a point where this question really does become car specific.

So let's make it that.

On a WRX - What would you choose?

10% more power, 10% less weight, 10% better braking or 10% better grip?

Cheers,
Nik

We talking about a stock WRX? If so handling for sure. 10% more power over stock wouldn't be as much of an improvement as handling IMO

vvvvvvvvvv

When you guys put it like that then yeh weight wins, didn't think it through.

10% less weight

reasons: due to the weight loss, breaking power is increased and so is power only slightly i guess.

cons : loose grip depending on aero

Hi,

Yer, stock, or at least the exact same car.

I would have though 10% less weight is the best? I agree 10% extra power probably wouldn't be better than the others around a track or similar.

Cheers,
Nik

for me and my car, 10% more power is only about 25hp, where as 10% less weight is at least 130kg lighter, which i think will be more significant, hence i'd go for 10% less weight.

Less weight FTW. Allows you to stop faster, handle better (less grip required) and accelerate faster for the same power. Win-win-win.
