Did anyone end up buying these converters for Alpine Head Units --> iPhone?

Has anyone found anything else that's good???

Na, I just use a 30 gig ipod permently in my glove box,
With my current Alpine ipod Cable.
Classic ipod that is, thats good enough

Using the iphone on there is too annoying every time u disconnect it
it doesn't start off from the song u had it on etc,
I haven't put a cd or dvd in my unit for 8 months easy,

Just the ipod i use all the time.

Your Iphone should continue from the song it was playing when you disconnected it, mine does, I wonder if there's an option in the ipod settings of the iphone?

Thumbs up iPhone Charge Converter

I just received one of the CableJive iPhone Charge Converters

It's an awesome little device that charges iPhone on "incompatible devices" such as Alpine head units. To those who weren't sure that they'd work - this converter has worked on every head unit and docking station that I have tested so far (Alpine, Eclipse, Mazda and Holden units)

I always used an iPod in the car but find it so much easier updating the songs on the iPhone regularly (pull out of pocket, link to computer as opposed to having to get the iPod out of the car once every few weeks) and being able to charge the phone in the glovebox is pretty convenient too.

They're $27.95USD plus postage from CableJive which works out to just over $40AUD delivered at the current XR.
We might be able to sort out a group buy if anyone is interested?

I just have to sort myself out a holder that clips onto the air vents and I'm set when 3.0 comes out - simultaneously charge, listen to Mp3's, use the iPhone's turn-by-turn navigation and take calls while the music is automatically muted

As a side note the newer Alpine units are now made to support the itouch and iphone.
