Yep, biggest problem i'm having so far is in being self employed most lenders want at lease a 20% deposit which even on 300k is still 60k!

banks for home loans have tightened up as of last week made it harder for us to go through them. you have to have a minimum of 3 months firm savings for the loan, some will make it hard for you to apply for no deposit homeloans.. CBA is rejecting alot of the first home buyers etc because of lack of saving and alot of outgoing debts

bah!! make sure you get all debt in line and reduce if need be as it makes you look alot better. get rid of Credit cards or non secure loans etc..

Wait... Banks are actually checking, monitioring that you can actually save and budget and only giving loans out to those people who can actually service them for the long term?

Thank fucking christ.

yeah agreed, good move, maybe will stop the amount of repossessions and stop the banks from failing!

anyone dealt with ray white centro before?

just found a home/land packages through them interested in.

on another note my mate n his bro got a joint loan, with hardly any deposit or savings no assets or guarentour, they struggled a little bit but evenually got it. so judging by that i think i should be ok, i have abit of savings, no debt, clean credit history, will get the FHOG, and have my parents going as guarentours

I saved up my 60k from hard work and not being retarded with my money. I dont see why anyone should be able to walk into a 400k loan with sfa to their name.

Like John said, thank christ they actually check, otherwise it'll be America number 2.

Lenders today are tightening their credit criteria as most have limited funds in their books.

We are still seeing weekly changes, and more and more Lenders are leaving the market. It's certainly an interesting time to apply for finance.

Enlisting a Broker working on your behalf in this climate is something worth considering, as now not only a choice of what's the cheapest Lender to go with, but finding one who will actually approve the deal.
