Hey rich, Are you sure the Simcard in the dell works for our service though, I remember seeing and older Dell which had the simcard port in the bottom but it didn't work with our networks. Have they fixed this now ?

There is a Dell model that works with Vodafone. We were looking to purchase at work but decided against it and use the USB stick instead.

I recommend the one of the top of the range asus eee pc's either the 1000HE 10" 1.5kg 9.5hrs 92% keyboard etc etc. or the S101HE 10.2" 1.1kg 5hr. The whole range has a 2gb upgraded ram deal online atm all around the 1000 mark.

"S101" = WIN.

s101! haha nice one.

thanks troops but a-typical for me i went with the vaio.

its hard for your eyes to adjust from a 15.1" laptop screen to an 8" from the p-series, but once you go crosseyed its all good. the xmedia bar works just like the ps3 menu, that's probably the best thing about it.

Not sure mate - But what I do know is we've got a few hundred Dell XT Tablets, which have a SIM card which definitely works with Telstra3G - A tablet though and not an ultra-portable.

I have a Dell Mini 9 which I use with a 3 USB wireless broadband modem.

I find it great for quick web browsing, email, IM when out and about.

$550 Officeworks + go buy a 2GB memory chip for $40 to replace the 1GB one.

Has a 16GB SSD hard drive which is good for power and makes it slient, but of course if ya need more space maybe an issue, although it has SD memory card slot which could be used also.

not for nothing, just a quick review.

had the p series for a few months and its a fairly hopeless concept. slow with a shocking battery life and the screen is just too small. been relogated to facebook duties for the mrs, she loves it!

i stepped it up recently to a tt vaio and its the complete opposite. i love this thing, hands down best money i have spent in a long time. took it on a roadtrip and it came back with high marks, an amazing 9+ hours of battery life from just a quick charge and handles everything i throw at it. tt series, just do it

I just picked up an Acer 10.1" from Arrow, 160gig hd $397 after cash back, 5 way card reader, 3 USB's, wireless blah blah, even comes with a soft case, had a quick play & seems great, going to China for a few months so just wanted something small.
