Highly recommended - there are a couple of staffy breeders in the Southern River area.

X2
Staffys are wonderful, loyal dogs that are very boisterous and love humans but never encourage them to fight. They are not generally good guard dogs unless you put a lot of work into them. The only down side once you have one you are a Staffy person for ever. If you’re not sure what you want go to a few dog shows, talk to the owner and buy from a registered breeder. My 2 cents worth.

We have a chocolate Lab and she is great. She is 9 months old at the moment, good nature which is a plus around kids (we have an 8yr old, 5yr old and a 2 yr old, children that is). My cousin has a staffy and to be honest, I thought staffy's may have been a bit agressive for kids, but I was wrong. Their Staffy is great with kids, very active and doesnt lose much of her coat. Another dog to consider but expensive is a Portugese Water Dog. They do not lose hair (they have a coat similar to a poodle), they do not drool or smell, and are the only breed accepted into the USA Presidential office. Happy hunting

To be honest mate your best bet for a great pup is to head down to the local Dog pound. We went to the Balcatta pound and found our little pup Balto there. When we found him he had been there since he was born and I dare say close to being put down.
He is the best dog I have ever seen, my family (who hate dogs) love him, my fiance loves him, and all my mates want to take him home.

All this from a dog nobody wanted? And there were alot of great looking dogs there!

The truth is I'd check there before the pet shop because those dogs are pretty much guaranteed to get a home whereas some of these great dogs, through no fault of there own (usually crappy owners) have ended up on death row. And you might think there disease infested phsyco dogs but they are far from it.

Good luck in finding your new best mate!
Gotta say i totally agree with doadrift, i have had a dog from the pound, also my mum had two an they were great dogs.. better to save a life i think but thats just my opinion. I have had a boxer and a english mastiff an they both rocked, but they both did drool ... but hey, they make up for that...
