Never said it was dangerous, and never corrected you, just stated some facts.
Keep up the great effort on the pics though.

Yes, some of them are pricks, cry me a river, or if you dont like the attention by an excel(without a cannon).

They are pretty hard to spot most of the time. Certainly not as easy to spot as the menace to society that is a WRX enthusiast.

Ahhh the old your exhaust is too low trick

Unless the ADR's have changed, and i doubt it, there is actually two height rules.

One relates to everything under the car, EXCEPT the exhaust, and it has to be 100mm clear of the deck

the exhaust however, has to only be as far of the ground as the tyre holds the bottom edge of the rim of the ground, so if you have low profile rubber, and the distance between tarmac to lip of the rim at the lowest point is only 50mm, thats all you need for exhaust clearance..

Its something i doubt many, if any police know..

double check the ADR's but that is how it was, and the reason why you see so many v8's running diff dumper exhausts which are legal

Sorry to hear about the yellow Damo.

In relation to the exhaust:

"Modified exhaust systems may be fitted to passenger vehicles provided the following conditions are met :

The system is efficient.

The exhaust system does not pass closer than 25mm to fuel tanks or the body floor.

The system does not foul the body work or limit axle travel.

No part of the system projects below the rim lower edge.

The system terminates behind the last body panel.

Systems on the left hand side of the vehicle do not deflect gases directly to the left.

The noise level of the modified system must not exceed the noise level of the manufacturer’s original system by a noticeable amount.

Side exhaust systems (sometimes called lake pipes) are not permitted.

The system must be effectively supported and must be free from cracks and leaks.

Where the vehicle is subject to ADR 27A - Emission Control. Extractors may be fitted, but the features of the original manifold must be maintained (i.e.. hot air transfer tube, manifold to air connection). Vehicles subject to unleaded fuel control emissions (ADR 37) must remain as specified by vehicle manufacturer..

Noise level will be the most important factor in assessing any exhaust system. Close attention will be given to this factor during examinations and in the on-road situation."

I agree. Cops are out there and whilst annoying at times (yes ive had a yellow for a low car and "no cats or res's in my exhaust" even though it has both) they are just doing their job. To actually generalise the police as all traffic cops that just drive around targeting your modified car is pretty nieve.

When i ended up over the pits i scraped into the pit at welshpool with my exhaust and the inspector hit my exhaust 7 times with this broom handle. He told me to get it raised after he took the yellow off and keep it away from that height otherwise the permits he wrote out would be null and void. Went to wilkos, got it raised a little, handles better, looks just as good and doesnt scrape on anything, pretty much perfect.

There is nothing to do with luck or them being "fukin idiots". Like skitzy said, dont want attention? Drive an excel.

and Yeah Matt, good find mate clears up a few questions
