its there job fair enough but a good percentage of police either need to read or re read the rules instead of wasting peoples time n money in having to get time off work losing money there. Go to the pits bout 80 bucks i think. More money lost. Just to fix a couple pissy little things that would not put anyones lives at risk by driving the car. Dont see why there are so many buckets driving around out there with no stickers.

Rules are rules I'm afraid boys... so break them and expect to cop it (excuse the pun). Even the smallest "not dangerous" illegal mod, its still illegal. So stop whinging about it, blaming coppers isn't gonna solve anything.

As a few have said they are traffic cops, their job is to deal with traffic issues... funny that hey. There are Detectives and General Duty coppers and the like that are catching said burglars.

Sorry Megs, your arguements, points, observations and anything else you have said in that post, or will say in the future, are null. And void. Because you are a police officer.
Sorry. That's the law.

haha, and lookout I may just be at traffic

I believed everything that I have said before though... just don't wanna sound like a parrot everytime a "yellow sticker" thread pops up, and the same negatives towards "coppers not catching robbers or not doing anything useful" comes up.

The only difference is I take offence to coppers being called "fukn idiots", now more so than before.

I have seen one of the new WRX unmarked cars doing 80kph
through a 50 zone, illegal right-hand turn by marked unit, failure to stop
at stop sign in marked unit and speeding through roadworks by an
unmarked falcon. None of the cars had lights or sirens on.

Even better... Unmarked black commodore on Albany Hwy friday afternoon
speeding. I was doing 110 (by GPS) and it caught me very quickly,
overtook at obscene speeds, and disappeard down the road. No lights,
no siren.

Did they didn't "cop it" as you say ?? I expect no.

Nuff said.

Take the old bombs off the road that are pissing out clouds of smoke and potentially have no brakes. Give work orders to the cars that are stupidly low, stupidly loud or have modifications that can cause serious safety issues.

Having police officers pull you over for no reason than to check if you have a blow off valve and then having to spend 15 minutes explaining to them that it is the stock subaru item... That is a waste of time.

If traffic police want to be taken seriously, they need to stop hiding behind a tree with a hair dryer and have a physical presence on the road. Cop car/bike on the road, everyone drives nicely. But that comes with a lack of revenue. And from the admissions of the pay dispute, it is just revenue.

cosidering a traffic cops main task is to police 'traffic' they should know a hell of alot more about cars than they do. the average car enthusiast would know ten times more than your average cop. you hear the stories about cops questioning standard items on cars, is this BOV stock, that turbo standard etc etc.

people are saying it is solely their job to look after car and traffic infringements, if this is the truth then they should know a hell of alot more than they do.

agree 100% with kato

I personally think that it is bullshit that a sticker can be given on suspicion that something is not right. I think if you can hand out a sticker you MUST be able to say that yes there is a problem. I had a friend get stickered on a AE82 corolla for having a factory strut brace... WTF?
