Even if it isn't, it isn't a Traffic offense so would have no relevance on your car.

Did you give him reason to be bothered wasting his time trying to get Karma to catch up with you a little sooner than it would otherwise???

So under this new law, if you contest a speeding fine (i.e. go to court) you instantly get your car impounded?

As I read it no. You would only lose your car if you were doing something silly enough that you are given a court order....Hektik drifto, drunk driving, silly speeding and the like.

If you decide to tick the "I'll see you in court" box on a regular speeding fine then you keep your car.

Dont quote me on anything but from what i understand Its for something that is court worthy at the time of the fine.

So not for demerit build ups or anything like that.

only if you get done for something that would normally be a summons for court instead of a fine.

Driving with no mdl, on the spot summons for court appearance (car gone)
Driving under the influence on the spot summons for court appearance (car gone)

Reckless same thing.

Build of demerits or a normal fine you want to contest would not have car taken as thats not the reason behind the new law.

the idea of the new law would be to limit the amount of people doing the more serious traffic offenses, and repeat offenders,
