You need to read the entire conversation from the start to under stand the context of the dick holding statement, though I disagree with the probies and smug looks comment. remember everyone's entitled to an opinion

Agreed, in part, mostly........

Operative word should. That does not stop a Police man or woman writing up a defect notice if they really want to. Usually because they are being dicks. Granted that could stem from the driver giving attitude or whatever, but regardless it still happens. Why? Because they know how much of an inconvenience it is to get removed both in time and money. For blatantly illegal mods sure, go nuts. But handing out stickers because the windscreen washer bottle is empty or an aftermarket cd player has been fitted defies comprehension, yes I know people this has happend too. A simple warning to have the washer bottle filled ASAP is warranted not an $88 dollar fee and hours off work.

Exactly my point. Again in the grand scheme of things if Constable Care has sand in his/her vagina for whatever reason they can hand out a canary for whatever reason! My little brothers car (R33 Skyline) was given a yellow sticker for excessive wear on the front tyres. Now yes the wear was greater on the inside but at no point accross the width of any tyres was the tread at an illegal depth. From memory there was 9mm on the inside and 12mm on the outside. No feathering or otherwise any damage to the tyres at all.

A petrol station is a nice big area with good lighting (especially if it is being done at night) and its safer (for coppers and for the driver of the vehicle) than being pulled over on the side of the road. A wide variety of cars would come in too, everyone needs to fill up!
Nailed it!

Well said.

As usual I'm going to add in my sarcastic 2 cents worth... shock... not sarcastic this time

After reading through this thread, along with replies from certain police
recruits it is worth pointing out that although many of us have different
opinions regarding police actions it is worth mentioning that we are VERY
lucky that Australia has free speech. Speaking out like this and voicing
such opinions in counties such as North Korea, China and others would
result in a long prison sentence or worse. So my hat does go off to the
police. They are fair game.. We give them heaps, and they give us heaps,
and our society and govt allows such actions.

So thats a big thumbs up for Australia.... Even though I give the cops
heaps, I respect our way of life and THANK FUCK I LIVE IN AUSTRALIA

Keep bitching... its our way of life.

Now what would make life really interesting is if a member was a lawyer, had permits for all mods on their car.
Operated those said mods in accordance with the permit and yet still got yellow stickered by a copper having a bad hair day.

I would be taking down Name, Rank and Badge number.
Then following it up with a large bill to the WA Police Department for frankly wasting my time, and also public funds.
My hourly rate is considerable, particularly if its my day off.

Two can play being a complete cnut, if need be. It just has to be done within the limits of the law.

And no I don't hate coppers. Have friends who are in the job.
But I do like custard filled donuts
