I would suggest you call apple and cause a scene. If you go down the path of "I paid good money for this! They are NOT supposed to just die after a year" and just keep it going it will improve your chances. They may require you to take it into an apple service centre and get them to confirm that there is no sign of damage to the ipod.

Just make the call to apple first, its worth it if you score a replacement from them.

Well he might have to but it's worth making a call first? If you don't have to spend $300 then why would you?

not really interested in buying a new one, its a $500 itouch bought a year ago it shouldnt break after a year, ive never ever dropped it or anything, they cant expect you to fork out 500 bucks for a new itouch every year! So yeh i will cause a scene eheh

will give that number a call and search the apple site n web for reapairers, thanks for the number

Just make a point of saying that you feel that the ipod was not "Fit for purpose". I'm actually a technician at an apple service centre and see them try to pass the blame on to others all the time but just keep at them because they always seem to fold eventually. (I didn't tell you this though ;P )
