True love is hard to find, sometimes you think you have true love and then you catch the early flight home from San Diego and a couple of nude people jump out of your bathroom blindfolded like a goddamn magic show ready to double team your girlfriend....

gotta love old skool ! add that for a few laughs... then just wing it with old stories of your time as kids, then move on to how he was when he met said wife....

always always finish with a toast "to the bride & groom"

Drink half a bottle of scotch (read: good scotch), the words will roll off the tongue!

Then drink the rest, and you'll be none the wiser!

i'll never forget to at one of my best mates wedding where his little bro was the best man & got up for his speach, he started it off as "okay i prepared a few lines for this speach, and now that i've snorted them......." the crowd burst into laughter, it was a great ice breaker to ease into the speach

Spend your time writing the speech and when you are happy with it, practice it a million times in the mirror until you know it off by heart, makes it so much easier to deliver in public speaking if you know your subject matter down pat, it'll be a breeze mate...

Don't mention ex-girlfriends never a winner.

When I did my speech I wrote a heap of stuff down and then just picked the best bits out, put it together and rearranged so it flowed. Once you think you have got it read it to your parents or someone older.

If you can't say it in front of your parents then don't say it at a wedding, they will also help you with wot doesn't sound right.

The hardest thing is actually getting up there once you start not so bad, don't get blind till after, I also took my beer up with me, saftey blanket.

Have fun.

Old school....? Damo, I think most of the posts in here are the good oil. Ive done a couple... just man up, have a beer or two, say some nice things, some funny, congratulate, take your seat.

Brent.
