Id be wearing it so i could have my wide brim and neck flap on...actually. prefer not to get burnt....but more the point of not bothering to take it off just because im not standing next to a rig, then not having to worry about putting it on when going near the rig. Pilings rigs can throw projectiles <30m, sometimes even more when they blow the air down the pile itself.

Phil, ive heard of a similar story, guy with an excavater on wheels, had it chained to a D9 and it was down the batters of a tailings dam (upstream side) and he was trimming the batters that way...crazy.

Fair call, i work undercover 90% of the time so sun isnt a major issue.

Yeah i used to spend 80% of my time out in the sun so it was my major issue, along with projectiles that might fall off a truck/fly from a drillrig.

i work under 1km worth of rock, so i tend to always have mine on haha
