I have 3 kids in our car, i never get parent bays as they are always taken. I usually park further away anyway to avoid the knobs who cant park properly from putting dings in my car. Though i certainly dont need the extra exercise Topgear lol

Ive taught my 5yo to open his door carefully so he doesnt hit the other cars and the other 2 are trapped by safety lock so they have to wait for me.

Im not the female driver who needs big bays im the one you actually want to park next to you

Doesn't everything these days come with child proof locks???

If the kids can't open the door there should be no issues.

Yeh they do have the child lock but that teaches them nothing, kids still need to be taught to be careful when they are old enough to have control of thier own door.

Both my kids have it down pat and have had from a very young age. Why? because I teach them consideration for others and thier property. Its not hard.
My children have been taught respect so they are well learned in the art of door opening. However...

I was parked, waiting for my wife to return to our car when the occupants of the car I was parked next to returned.
The 7/8 year old child opened her door and let it swing open straight into my driver door. It left a rather large transfer of white paint, which at the time was all I thought it was.
I polished the white transfer of paint off our black car to reveal quit a hefty warp in the door skin. Pissed OFF, ahhh yes...
I didn't even get their details, my fault.
This just goes to show that no matter how well we teach our kids, it is the bare foot losers in their shit cars who don't respect what others have worked hard for.
If the bays were bigger then this would not have happened. Hard lesson learned, park at the back of the carpark, or get a pram bay (legitimately)!!

+1 on that. i bought a bunky for shopping runs and everyday driving to keep my foz dent free.
Nothing shits me more than inconsiderate people who are not careful or can't be bothered to put their trolley in the return bay.
