Default Wooden floorboards advice?

Hey guys, I'm having a new house built and am wanting to have solid timber flooring installed, probably something like Blackbutt. Has anyone got any contacts/recommendations?

cheers

I got Maui timber put down, but i can give you the guys number,
took about two weeks start to finish.
took a week to lay, and week to polish and sand and fill ,
had to wait about 4 days before walking on it though.

Ensure you get the appropriate timber for your lifestyle. If you have dogs/children a softer wood is a bad idea. Blackbutt, from memory, is fairly resistant to indentation but is certainly not the strongest.

Balancing everything up we were going to go pressed bambo (the cross grain stuff that reduces cupping) but in the end, due to the dog, we went with tiles instead.

Grandwood Flooring - they did my place 10 yrs ago - still looks the biz now (in fact, I wish I had done the whole house).

Just had the stairs done in our new house. Some of the stairs are curved and the installer has done an amazing job. Master craftsmen. He also did the woodwork/flooring on Greg Norman's yacht a few years ago, 'Aussie Rules' I think it was called. Highly recommended.

pm me if you want his number.

Cheers
