Default Poliscan Speed Camera Testing!

Hey guys I was driving along Plain Street this morning and saw two of the new laser cameras set up on the East side of the road facing opposite directions. Almost directly across from the Police station in East Perth.

My Valentine One didn't pick either up and i passed from both directions. I even came back an hour later in case they hadn't turned them on yet and still nothing.
I'm just wondering if anyone else saw these and if they had any luck picking them up?

They may have not been putting them into proper operation as I did see two guys standing near them and pointing at them etc :P

Cheers.

Oh I hope it wasn't on when you went past

With regard to the Leach Highway "combo cameras" - the camera on the corner of Stock and Leach (rear facing) gives me a laser warning on the V1 . It is very brief and only when past the camera.

The others on the corners of North Lake and leach and the other on Carrington and Leach give no warnings at all.

I saw one on Tonkin hwy a few days ago. Looked to be in operation for sure. Didn't see the main camera unit, but i saw something about 10 meter's down from it that looked to take a shot of the rear of the car also.

I work in the Main Roads building (just next to where they set up those cameras), and they seem to do a lot of testing at that spot. The reason I know it's testing is that I have driven past that camera a few times doing 40/50 and it has flashed me once or twice.

So hopefully if you were speeding, you might get lucky if they were just testing.

Wasn't speeding anyway because it was at the top of the hill and i was in a Kia which could barely make it up the hill :P Just curious as to whether the radar detectors will actually pick them up.

EDIT: Also they aren't rolling them out till July 1st apparently, so even if you did speed past them they couldn't fine you.

I had one of the new ones flash me on Tonkin coming back from Morley area last Saturday. I saw it on the way up there, so I knew to double check my speed on the way back.
I was doing a speedo 98 in 100 zone and it flashed me as i passed it.

Testing. Must be.

Your speedo might also be out.

I'm going to wait to get my V1 until it's confirmed that they will pick up
these new cameras!!!

Me too...after being flashed the other night outside the cop shop at Plain street by a camera on the opposite side of the road, and being unsure if i was doing the limit or not, i'm hanging out to see if the V1 holds its own against these new menaces, not too phased bout the points if i do get done, just keen to prevent it happening in the future (yes i know not speeding is the best idea, but nobody does the limit all the time no matter how hard they try, there's still instances where they exceed the limit even by a few kph's) at least if the V1 can give you a warning you won't be suffering one of these instances at a camera point

Best way to avoid these new cameras is combine a V1 with a laser park pro.
I'm not going to dish out on it until i see how the V1 goes against them alone.

Be careful, (current) Laser Pro Park software doesn't jam the Poliscan.
