Depends entirely on the company you work for. My partners car all the day to day running expenses, servicing etc are provided.
Optional extras such as speeding tickets must be paid for by the employee. Personally I would put the excess in the driver can pay it ( unless it is stipulated in your contract ). Lets face it if you caused an accident it is only fair enough that it costs you something for your mistake.

If it's in your contract and you pay it just claim it come tax time as
a work related vehicle expense.

Just be thankful they gave you the option to pay. My previous employer took it straight from my pay without giving me any notice.
Plus they couldn't prove it was my fault, but since it was my 'work car' I had to pay. (The car was a demo & sat on the yard for anyone to use.)
