Default Day pack + laptop + DSLR?

Hey there,

I'm looking for one bag to do all of the above. I'm travelling on a budet airline soon and I only get one piece of carry on luggage, so I want a backpack that can carry my little EEE laptop, a compartment for my DSLR and also space for the general travel crap like headphones and tickets and passports etc. I've been looking at the Crumpler web site and spotted this:

http://www.crumpler.com/AU/Camera-Ba...html?SKU=SI06A

Which meets the criteria but is pretty pricey. Does anyone have any other options? Has anyone travelled with one of these? I've got a couple of other Crumpler bags and I'm impressed with the quality but I don't know what other options are available.

Cheers,

Wrxpc

I've got a Tamrac (http://www.tamrac.com/)

Cant remember the price as the wife bought it but I think she got it a PRA in the city. They come in different sizes and are a very good quality and comfortable bag. Usually take it on as my hand luggage and can fit heaps in it. Carried it around Europe last year with no dramas, including a very long Le Mans weekend.

I've had one of these for the last 5 years

http://products.lowepro.com/product/...ck,1922,16.htm

has about 300,000 frequent flyer points of its own, carries my desktop replacement lappy, 40d with lens etc, my 26 different site induction cards. The guys at work like it so much that 3 more of them bought it.

I took my Kata DR-467 around Europe last year and was perfect.

Only cost me $110 from a Perth store on eBay.

Yeah it really comes down to what feels good on your back. Remember you are the one carrying it for 12 hours per day!!!

Thanks for the tips guys, I think I'm going to have to wander into the city and try a few out.

AIG I'd be interested in what model number you have, I've looked a few of the Tamrac ones and I like the 'side load' option for the camera. Is yours like this? Does it work well?

Jester, maybe you can lend me yours when I go to Singapore week after next so I can try it out

Cheers,

Wrxpc
