Default Speaker issues

Hi Guys,

Yesterday me and a mate re-wired my car sound system. Allthough the issue that we were hoping to resolve is still happening. Basically ive got a JVC head unit KD-G515 (4x50w), 2 front focal speakers (working great) and 2 rear focal 130 CA1 speakers. The rear speakers are only getting sound to the tweeters, which is a little strange. Is this because there is a lack of power going to them? I would have thought the head unit would be able to provide them with enough.

this is a spec sheet of the 2 rear focal speakers:

Thanks in advance

Does your JVC unit have an equaliser or some other setting like high or low pass filters turned on? You might have the filter set at something like 250Hz which would mean the rear woofers are doing SFA. Worth checking.

Also just to be sure the voice coils aren't shagged press GENTLY on the woofer cone while playing music. If it comes to life then you need new speakers.

ive tried the pushing on the woofer cone, no difference. I don't think my head unit has those options.

found this info on the head unit:

Maximum Power Output:
Front: 50 W per channel
Rear: 50 W per channel
Continuous Power Output (RMS):
Front: 19 W per channel into 4 Ω, 40 Hz
to 20 000 Hz at no more than 0.8%
total harmonic distortion.
Rear: 19 W per channel into 4 Ω, 40 Hz
to 20 000 Hz at no more than 0.8%
total harmonic distortion.
Load Impedance: 4 Ω (4 Ω to 8 Ω allowance

not sure if that helps.

that was the next step or to try other "lower" power speakers. I don't have anything to test the speakers on.

That head unit has a high pass filter.

here's the lowdown;
Settings: WOOFER*1 Subwoofer cutoff frequency

LOW: Frequencies lower than 55 Hz are send to the subwoofer.
MID: [Initial]; Frequencies lower than 85 Hz are send to the
subwoofer.
HIGH: Frequencies lower than 115 Hz are send to the subwoofer

Check to see if the sub is set to HIGH, this sends all frequencies below 115hz to the sub and everything above 115 to the rear speakers.
