Could not have said it better. My thoughts as well. I'm not 100% sure and somebody can correct me. Even if the party that you voted for is not the winning party in your area, there funding for the next election is based on the number of votes they did get. Also even if they don't get in at least how ever will get in not notice that people did not agree with there policies and may be think about it a little more.

With the election looming, and Labor & Liberal not providing much in the way of inspiring leadership, you might be tempted to pass your vote to the Greens or another alternative party.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and it's not my place (nor my nature) to push my personal opinion upon anyone else. However, what I do ask, is before you vote for anyone, be sure you understand and agree with the policies they represent.
The greens for example have some very attractive policies in regards to environmental issues, which make them very attractive, however, a little bit of reading and investigation uncovers policies that I'm not so fond of. (Yes, the majority of my opinion in regards to these policies is based on, but not limited to, my beliefs as a christian... but hear me out)

These policies include:
-replacing school Chaplains with secular counsellors.
-remove Scripture teaching at state schools.
-Stop prayers in Parliament; and
-Provide abortion and euthanasia effectively on demand.
-Supporting gay marriage.

A lot of you probably don't give a rats about the above stances, and like I said, everyone's entitled to their own opinion. All I ask is that you understand the 'not so advertised' policies of ANY party before you vote for them.

Not to mention that if you vote for the Greens, you're effectively voting Labour anyway.

here's my take on it.... i'm willing to put money on the libs not repealing the ISP censorship, both labour and liberals are working toward the same goals as they're both funded by the same major corporations... and an ISP filter is looking like its going to be pushed through in the US for the same reason... filtering of information... welcome to communist australia...

1: don't vote for either of the major parties, avoid giving them votes as much as possible, then maybe, one day, we'll have a government that doesn't pass laws just because the corporation that benefits has enough money to fill their pockets for doing it and we'll have a sustainable functional society.
2: Watch "the obama deception" - although it is biased and mainly about america, and so disturbing that most will dismiss it as conspiracy theory, the information supporting it is all there if you want to go digging for it yourself... and there is an absolute shiteload of it... And in the not too distant future, entirely relevant to australia and our freedom in general.

Thanks Kato, you proved my point.

ps. the rich/poor divide or the haves/have nots doesn't always equate to money (in an earning capacity). Government incentives, support agencies, social issues... etc.
Sorry, but how does it all not boil down to $?

I'm only skim reading and typing a quick replies... But end of the day it is all $. Whether it is physical cash in the bank or the government subsidising you, that is just swings and roundabouts.

Yet no one complains about the amount of $ these companies put in as tax dollars...

If you ran a company and 99% of your income came from one source, you'd sure as shit make sure they kept giving you that money.
