amusingly one of the candidates said if we went to a re-election, abbot would have won...
so makes me wonder- wouldnt that mean the people would have preferred abbott?

A little reading so that most understand what we are up for. In the end, parliament will be a schmozzle and Labor is welcome to it. Next election in less than 18 months. Going to go polish off a bottle of wine and hopefully forget the disappointment of today's events.

Meh, just disappointed that the parties, and policies for that matter, that people voted on were "modified" to suit the independents wants. Not very ethical and NOT something anyone voted or asked for.
Julia knew that she had to take it like a (man) girl to get the decision. Things people do ey.

Fairly disappointed with the outcome.
Close to $10billion to the region areas??!! My guess is that close to 99% of people live in the cities. Could pretty much buy all of regional Australia for 10billion |

It's funny though, all the FB status updates along the lines of 'Yay Labour won!' are from Uni students or people I am well aware have NFI how half of the Government stuff works & vote based on who has the scariest ad campaigns before elections. Had a bit of a verbal with a friend of a friend about it...every single point they brought up & complained about was straight from a Labor fear ad. I know a few people who only voted Labor because there is plans to give them a little more $$ once they finish their apprenticeships.
For fucks sake. I bet by next election, when some will have families, be self employed or just generally out in the real world - their votes will change. |

The 'not taking a hard line stance' on I/I and SIEV's, means fun and games for the Defence community...
Liberal > Labor on a Defence front. We got more money, better ships, equipment, the works. (On an ADF wide scale). Now... filthy ginger will reinstate all sorts of ahhhh 'stipulations' I cant elaborate on. Sigh. I bags she wont call another election, based on being quite scared, of the outcome. But im not fully 'politics savvy', so I dont know how challenges and the like, work. I dont need a national BB network, I live in the city, and have wireless. I dont need your increasing doctors/hospitals and the like, as I get free everything. So Julia... "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR ME LATELY....?!?!" Brent.
