considering his histroy i'd say he is lucky to be able to be insured at all!

Keep in mind Shannons don't usually insure under 25s. There are a few on here that are under 25 and have cars insured with them, not quite sure how they managed that but i assume it's a case by case basis. Not sure how much bearing the afformerntioned 'enthusiast' term has but if you know your car and sound like an enthusiast it will probably help!

i'll think you'l find that just cars may be your only option too, i don't see too many other insurance companies covering you at all let alone for less than the $2500p/a that your b/f pays.

Shannons probably won't insure you being 18, usually only cover over 25's

Totally off topic... But I'm fairly confident you must be the only female owner of an RS Liberty in the entire state!

Personally I'd just get 3rd party cover for an RS. When I first got mine when I was 18 I think I paid about $500 a year for 3rd party with Just Car. At the time, that was with recent accident history too!

I'm still under 25 (just! ) and am now with Shannons and have full cover but you'd be dreaming to get this at 18.

Shannons are great!

they've insured my car with all mods for $60k

extremely limited use which suits me fine as I'm never here to drive it.

affordable too.

I am with SGIO in th old mans name, as a secondary driver, paying $100/month with a 2K excess which Is pretty reasonable considering I am 19 and still on p-plates.

However, the car is only insured for market value, which happens to be 2K less than what we paid....

Hope that gives you a rough idea, we also have home and contents with SGIo which lowers the cost when you have multiple policies out..
