DLS totally screwed me around.. every morning felt like I had about an hours sleep and every night was like trying to go to bed at 5:00 pm. Just totally and utterly messed me up.

The principal is alright but there will be people it doesn't suit. Like me.

It's Like every thing with WA though anyone with power is old and backwards. Just like the scab beach front should be redeveloped with skyrises and apartments and turn it into a gold coast style city.

But look at it the hotel I give it couple years and the thing will be sitting empty and decaying.

Actually due to Perth's geographical position in relation to that great big ocean to the west of us we have extremely clear days during summer. That means that the amount of measurable light we have in comparison to other capital cities is much greater. So although we might have the same sunset and sunrise time as a cities relatively close to our latitude we actually experience more sunlight in terms of brightness or intensity.

DLS itself does nothing to make anything hotter, c'mon.. I'm not a complete retard. The simple fact is the daylight hours are shifted so we're still experiencing twilight at 8:30pm, ergo it is hotter further into the evening.

DLS stole my bike when I was a kid. That is all.

Cheers for the heads up on the DLS date.

From what I've seen WA is pretty bloody set in its ways and quite happy to think small well into the future. Very hard to convince people of change here, logical arguments or not.

I'd take extended trading over DLS anyway. So freakin hard to get to a shop during normal trading hours if you work full time. WA, you are doing yourselves out of business. / rant.

I loved DLS when I was working outdoors, sun was up just as I was starting work and I had 1 less hour working in the heat of the day.

I am a shift worker too, but I prefer DLS.

with DLS it is still light on my way to work and dark when I get home (easier to get to sleep when it's dark).

now without DLS it is dark when I leave for work and light when I get home.
the fukn annoying birds are all happy and chirpy that it's light and it's a lot harder to get to sleep.

bring back DLS I say.
