Yeah, I'm not so sure about that, I have a friend with a Forester that has 280,000kms, my GFs parents have a forester with 310,000, and my parents sold a legacy a long time ago with 300,000 on the clock, all on teh original engines. I have NEVER heard of any Holden (or whoever is building them nowadays) V8 engine lasting nearly that long.

Even if Holden are getting that many kms out of their motors I think Subaru are doing pretty well to produce great, long-lasting motors.

Because it makes cheap easy and reliable power?

The LS series of engines for all their "low tech" are a decent bit of kit!

Kidding right?

Dude that is just the run in time for most V8's, another 100,000 km's or so and they would nearly be due for thier first service!

I have seen many a V8 go 500km's or more! (have seen a couple over a mill but thats another story!)
