Default Boss 355 gt

Rumours have been floating around the blue camp that the brand new superchargerd boss engine in the fpv's is a screamer. I was lucky enough to tag along with a mate that just picked one up this morning. Impressions, wow....does not like feel like a factory car one bit, with the little 1.9lt harrop supercharger screaming away and that active exhaust barking this thing has aftermarket written all over it! First order of business was to take it down to Xtreme. Brand new with 9kms on the clock when it was picked up. Well and truely "run-in" by the time it got to the dyno.

Strapped down and went 333rwkw which is out of this world totally stock through a zf. That's just shy of 450rwhp from a brand new untouched car, converted back through drivetrain loss, this is a 550+hp car with warranty!!

With a few light teaks it went 350 and with more time spent on it, it would easliy go 400rwkw with just an ecu flash nothing else!

HSV would want to do something to stay in the game with Ford offering FI 6 & 8's now.

Haven't heard a bad report on the S/C 8 so far and it's certainly an aftermarket dream. Should be an interesting few years for the Aussie car market.

you will find that all zf's are run up in 3rd gear.

on a sidenote, HSV's flagship 150 grand supertaxi the W427 struggles to put down 290rwkw standard!
