I hated Port Hedland. Didnt mind the camps on the minesites. Depends on the quality of the food more than anything else I find.

ROR you say that now, just wait for bricks through your (company) car window, coons breaking into your house / donga and pissing on your couch and stealing your food. Don't even get me started on them shitting in the coles isles or the "coon" truck rolling in on pay day, they are all stacked on the back like oxy bottles, pissed as farts causing all kinds of mayhem.

Agreed. 5 years in Hedland and a couple in Newman. It would take a lot to get me back up there. I found camps to be better than towns, dependant on roster of course.

*Hedland.

I've done a few stints up there to help out the shipping. Nice welcome change to sites. Sure the locals can be a bit farked. But if it's really an issue you can just sit in your donga by your lonesome self like you would at a site.

Go enjoy the ability to buy a carton and have it in your room. The option to go buy maccas or a pizza when the dinner is shit. Options to see a movie, do some shopping, play golf, sink piss in an open pub all day on your day off, buy more than 4 beers at a time without them being opened for you.
