What size plate is it? You could make on out of 2mm ali? Be nice and light and will easily stop rocks etc.

I'll grab the verniers but i reckon it is 6 mm. Also in some spots it is 4 layers thick.....

Im using it as a template and i'll make something else up. I want it to go to the edge of the bumpers and also protect the crank pulley which is very close to the right hand wheel.

The attaching mechanism is a bit weird aswell. The front is bullet proof but bloody heavy and the rear is held on by these two flimsy brackets that are secured to the k frame by a couple of self tapper screws. I will be getting the rivnut kit out and make it better and easier.

Ok update. Seems i have missed a couple of things.

Car is now in tassie and i leave just after the anzac day long weekend for another shot at targa tas.

We couldnt get the gems centre diff controller to talk to the dash so you never knew which diff mode you were in. Also there is really only one person in Australia that can tune gems ecu. So... We ripped the centre diff and the ecu out and replaced it with motec. Also we decided that it was time to get on the e85 bandwagon so bigger injectors, fuel pump, surge tank etc. Also decided to put the motec shift light in. And i finally bit the bullet and re ordered a couple of heated windscreens so that is now in.

We have also decided to change the bell mouth the small length of echaust between the bell mouth and the start of the tomei exhaust. It hasnt been on the dyno yet so will be interesting to see if we get any extra out of it.

Prologue today. We were 6th behind, 3x R35's, an audi ttrs and jason white in the ex kim ill an evo IX.

Pretty happy as i wouldnt expect beat them in a point and shoot exercise around george town.

Real fun starts tomorrow.

Rickards won targa wrest point in january but blew his motor up at the media day at simmons plains yesterday so he is out. Kaplan has this awesome walkinshaw and just goes around doing skids but he cracked a piston at symmons so last night he bought an 05 sti that is all caged and ready to go so he will be in that.

Targa Tas link. Bit more sterile than reports from the drivers (thanks for the updates Brendon)

Near the top of the page on the right hand side is the links for Rallysafe, results, Tarag live (which has a few comments on it)
