Thanks guys I'll try turn off the anti-hijack and see how I go.

Other really annoying thing is everytime I start the car with the keypad switched off I still have to turn the ignition on, press the keypad (any button) and then wait for the "click" before I can fire it up. Sometimes takes 4-5 seconds. Not much but does get a little annoying.

If all else fails it might be a case of going for the Autowatch.
