Default Brant Replacement Options

G'day guys,

Recently been having a few issues with the Brant keypad. I also live up bush and have to get out of the car to open gates which makes the whole anti hijack thing a nightmare as I have to re-enter the pin everytime I get out and the car decides to shut down...

Had a quick search but wasnt able to find a good thread on options for different types/brands/installers for replacement alarms. Sure I've seen it before but couldn't find.

So my question is what would you recommend as the best system to look at replacing this with on an 06 sti?

Thanks in advance,

Chris

No need to remove the whole Brandt. Just bypass the keypad and leasve the transponder and starter immobilisation part of the Brandt there.

common to replace the unit with an autowatch instead.

Something that can be done easily? I assume it simply means the alarm operates as per normal but no keypad/pin required? Means that anti hijack is removed?

Cheers,

Yup just call me tmr and I wll go through with you which wires to cut and join.

Alternatively, a full Autowatch system will be ideal

probably more of a curse of it being in a 300zx

i havent heard of many problems, not to say they dont, but compared to a brant- you should have nothing to worry about

The 300ZX always has electrical problems. Tat's y the autowatch dont work on good on them.

The closest way through the firewall is a hole through the gearbox wiring. WTF! Not a good car to work on I would say.

You've made the right decision to get a rex.

Tell me about it! The 300zx was a nightmare. Amount of time I spent underneath it was almost the same as I had driving it.

If I was going down the autowatch route Mao what am I looking at roughly cost wise? Do you fit them?

The Autowatch will set u back $500 fitted with the Brandt removed, but you are just having a problem with the keypad and not the security system, so no point spending that money, just do the bypass.
