I purchased the trolley in 2008 as an ex-demo. It was 5 grand cheaper than the $rrp. Including on-road costs back then I probably saved around 7 grand in total. However I haven't seen ex-demo's priced that well for ages. Maybe dealers are less willing to move on price these days?

There can be a lot of savings. You are essentially buying a used car. Being a demo, it could be very used too but will have the manufacturers warranty should anything go wrong.

I've found that there are a lot of 'scam' demo's on places like carsales. Look cheap, but when you go to see them they don't exist.

I've managed to get great deals on new cars that are better than demo pricing too. So there is always movement.

Mine was a "demo" ex Subaru exec vehicle. I got it with 12,000 on the clock and 8 months old for WELL BELOW the new car price.

My partner's Tiguan was also a demo and we got approx $8000 off new car price with it being 3 months old and less than 5000Km.

In both cases we are the first name in the owners warranty book.

Scam demo's is exactly right. Problem is, the law states that every car a car yard has in it's possession, has to be listed for sale. But, that means the DP's STI is for sale, but like hell he'll want to sell it... so they just say its not for sale, or sold

Exactly. I also got the Subaru Assured, additional 2 year warranty that covers the engine and driveline. Essentially 4.5 years of warranty. 6 months of it left...

Good for fuck all once you modify it and who on this forum wants a standard Subaru?? There may be many that are standard but I'm sure they don't want it to stay that way...

it would be an inconvenience more than anything... although, for the vehicle I think Daryl is buying, it won't have been test driven all that much by rev heads...
