Default Getting data off a snapped USB

Hi Guys,

I need to get some data off a broken USB (see attached pic). I have another exact same USB.

Would anyone know where i would be able to get the broken USB attached to a working one?

Any help much appreciated.

call IT / computer stores it can be done.

but as its a USB, they are aware that you are keen for something on that drive - i was quoted $500 for the service rang around and got it done for $200 from a dude in myaree dont recall the business name was a few years ago now

Data is very valuable to the person and not replaceable.

Can you get some better photos showing the damage to the board?
If the pads for the Vcc/Gnd/Data pins aren't damaged too much, then you should be able to get an existing USB cable, cut one end off and solder it onto the tracks.

I've done this before for something similar, not worth paying a few hundred to do if you know some one who has the tools and know how!

Data extraction is possible but the costs from the majors is expensive. I just had a failed hard drive, drive had destroyed arms and platter damage, recovered and the final bill was over $2500.
