I had one, it is the 3rd best thing you can do with your pants on... after flying aircraft and competing in MC days.

I had a 99 Kawasaki 1100cc 2 seater in This awesome yellow colour. I sold it to some dude who paid WAYYY too much for it. Was awesome being able to blast around the place. The Cops would always nab me through the canals. Even if I was trying to do 5knots. Everybody who does not own a jetski hates you, because they are either:
Too noisey
Too smokey (2 stroke only)
Too fast or;
Jealous.

Get one, GET ONE NOW!! I am in the market for one. After a Road bike, a new plane and a couple of other things I have no money for.

I used to race them a couple of years back. The SEADOO is the pick of the crop followed by Polaris, then Kawazaki. Stay away from Yamaha, yes they have the grunt but the hull design is not conducive to speed.

Max speed for a yamaha 1100 1200 cc would be 45 -50 mph
Max speed for a seadoo with a smaller engine would be 65 mph

Also of cornering stay away from the Yamaha, the hull tends to only work in sea water and will slide as opposed to turning. The seadoo will turn like its on rails, most of the time you will get chucked off on your first turn.

Bear in mind I am speaking from a racing type of boat, if you like the jetski to slide around a bit and not too fussed in top end speed then yamaha is your boat, but if you like top end speed and cornering that will have you hanging on for dear grief then seadoo is the only one that I would go for.

I have owned four jetskis
1. Suzuki
2. Yamaha
3 Polaris
4. SEADOO

Came third in state titles in NSW with the help of my seadoo

2ND AND 1ST were also seadoo's

The new Yammy's arent too bad! Mates are pretty heavily into them (both at work, competitions and play) and we often go for a thrash around the place. Definitely get something fast Had lots of fun on a modded one a while back. Seriously quick bit of gear and a first timer would get into a lot of shit

The Yamaha GP1300R is fair bit of fun too!

Things i noticed though:
- Flat water is boring and my mates do trips every couple of months down south to tackle the waves and stuff. Some of them are getting pretty full on and stupid though!
- You really need a couple as it gets boring after a little while
- Lots of money involved! Im in a good position where my mates own them and i get to play!

If you got a spare 20K, why not though! Can never have too many toys

JMAX, if your 110% serious about getting a yammy or taking one for a thrash, PM me and we'll tee it up

Jonno...bloody noisy, boring, anti social things....but could amuse you for a while I guess
Just make sure you use it in designated areas and keep well clear of surfers, sailboarders and kites surfers!! ...or we'll hunt ya down and burn it!

But they are good for tow-ins....

U do a bit of tow in surfing do ya Nauli? Wouldnt have picked you as the type...

If its too noisey, your too old and its hardly anti social if you do it in the proper areas...
