They admitted it....its a million times better than them saying that its Ramon's fault for driving it hard with a marginal fuel system.

They now put it down to the wastegate of fail, which in my mind is a step in the right direction.

I think they are coving all bases. The want repeat business, so a bit of give and take is what they "appear" to be playing...

Lean = too much air or not enough fuel. Both were mentioned..: )

"cause more than likely from extra boost once the waste gate diaphragm failed again."

cause of leanness

what an odyssey!

the engine is finally coming back home, after what seems like a lifetime. its due to arrive friday, ill make sure to take photos and update this thread when it does.

from piston manufacturing delays as the teflon coating failed and had to be sent back to hand picking a brand new block as the old one cracked in three places, building a billet main cap girdle, billet dampered harmonic balancer, ultra gucci hand finished con-rods and head modification that's flowed within a micromillitre of its life all promises to be ultra responsive and efficient from just 1500rpm!. the previous engine made 90rwkw at the same rpm, while this new combination is likely to make twice as much!

also coming over is a nizpro cobra plenum that's hand finished, nizpro big big cooler (100mm) with kevlar pipework, hks gtii 60mm wastegate, the t51r turbo is being hi-flowed and upgraded to an even larger rear housing as the new engine combo won't sacrifice any low down power or torque with the upgraded turbine, also turbosmart raceport 50mm bovs (x2), nizpro/sard 1000cc injector kit with step-down controller for both injectors and fuel-pump, custom one off 102mm (4") catless stainless steel with a single titanium muffler and the one of a kind aeromotive fuel system.

the diff bolt support was cracked/smashed so a solid piece is being made up to hopefully help the diff handle all the new power, diff cv needs repacking as the torque from the previous engine (1200nm's) twisted the cradle.

shame it wont be ready for rexpo, would of been nice to light up those rear tyres.....the upcoming perth-wrx dyno comp for sure, strickly as exhibition only, bit unfair on the other dak dak's

Awesome. Be good to see it all come to fruition. Sounds like it's been engineered like it SHOULD have the first time round. Bet you're looking forward to the day its all bolted in and ready to drive so you can finally get some reliable enjoyment out of it.

So, most powerful BARRA in Aus/the world when it's all done?

And 180rwkw at 1500rpm sounds like much investing in rear tyres

hahaha hardly, the bar has been raised somewhat, 660rwkw is the target, which my "baby" turbo will never reach. gt42 and 47's are the big hitters you need to start making HUGE numbers, but unless you want peak horsepower, in a street driven car, 5500pm lag is just too much, especially when 7000rpm is its top limit, woohoo 1500rpm power band, no thankyou!

750rwkw is the new benchmark and one which is being pushed this year from all the major players, not me!

i just want 500rwkw on u98 safe as houses all day everyday (and whatever we get on c16 for dyno-comps for my dick is bigger than yours bragging rights).
