would have been cool as a diesel to see what it could do.
That XT is for the Austalian Safari.
Petrol turbo's are not allowed under the rules to enter the SUV class of the ARC.
Just something they were considering was a diesel as an alternative.

Ok, a bit off track but we have ordered a mazda Cx5 GT diesel to replace the RAV4.

Mazda Australia Zoom-Zoom - CX-5 Specifications

Apparently it has a "staged turbo configuration"?? Specs dont mention anything about more than 1 turbo? Any ideas on what a staged turbo setup is? From what Ive googled, its one feeding into another to run crazy boost?

Car is a 2.2L diesel, 129kw/420Nm...1680kgs....AWD. Should be good round town. :-)

How I understand it is that its 2 turbos but joined as one unit - it actively selects either the smaller or larger turbo depending on how you are driving. Smaller one for low down torque and minimal lag, larger one for top end power.

I am interested in one too.. been looking for a smaller SUV.

I've been helping a friend with his diesel foz and been disassembling the logic on how the DPF filters work.

So very tempted in sinkin some coin back into a new subie, lets see what happens when i return to Perth in a few weeks.

I have some existing tools for Mazda so it might be another area i'll get into when i team up with a workshop (Whoever that will have me).

My mate in the states runs a 650rwhp 6.6L duramax diesel in his silverado and he reckons his is pretty tame compared to a few others. That's performance diesel!
