Thank you.
P.S I have a JDM WRX with 280PS standard, which has 440CC injectors. |

Best thing (and safest) to do is to just double check what injectors you have in there before installing the ECU. Its a 10min check that could save you 10 months off the road being rebuilt

The pic of the 16bit Z4 ecu shows where the socket for the Group N chip would be added (or in the case of RS liberty's you'd solder in a socket & fit a 'VOS' daughter board & chip) - Mines could still Flash the EEProm (with sticker remnant on it) on that type of ecu with out adding another socket & chip. They could also dual map those z4's by adding a switch, new Socket & flashed ROM if someone wanted user selectable 'Race & Street' maps (street = original mapping to pass emissions). The resistor in the pic below can be replaced by a switch so you could switch between group N (or VOS) mapping & OEM map. The pic in your original post is a later 16 bit ecu & flashable - Hence no option ROM socket. Part of the problem with the SAFC systems is the fact that they don't control boost or ignition timing, just fueling. To properly properly tune the car, you must be able to control all three aspects. Normally, the stock ECU controls does an excellent job of controlling all three, but with the SAFC now calling the shots for fueling you're left with an ECU that has no idea what the hell is going on with fueling or boost - but is still expected to keep your ignition timing in good order. If it sounds like a pretty stupid way of doing things, it's because it is.

If its a mines ECU for that generation JECS mainboard, its missing a daughter board connected to the I/O lines (1997).
Older style JECS mainboard (1994) either have sockets or need sockets to tell it to read the factory 27C1028 eeprom chip (or similar interleaved eeprom). 1999/2000 ECU's were the age of flash i'm lead to believe, you'll need to read the MCU and compare flash against a stock unit. P. |

Are you saying the original picture in my first post doesnt have a mines tune??
someone else mentioned, the rows of solder holes are where the chip would be soldered in... Although others like Rossco have said it is just reflashed? Quote:
