I aint gonna die like that lol

LIBRT, u dont bugger around with light line sportfishing. 24kg line on an alvey and long rod (painful) or overhead and shorter rod. The longer that fish is in the water the more likely it is to be nailed by something big and bitey. Sometimes the sharks (BIG ONES) are so bad you never land a fish
Iv heard many true storys like mack's jumpin many meters out the water to nail baits! That would be mint!
I know what you mean about jaggerd rocks below...see pic below of what you land on if ya fall...

Well the sailfish took me 1hour. Got it all on video

Most fish only take 5-20min but usually get chomped by the local sharks...see pic below of my uncles mackeral that got taxed but the grey suit taxman lol

Or BIG cod!!!!( pic is taken 25ft up so you get a idea of size)

Since my old pc died a horrible death here are the biggest fish i have to my name that i can prove I just google imaged myself lol

This was before the days of even 2mp digital cameras and a DSLR was unheard of lol. Straight off a crappy print!

Small 'cuda. Nailed its much bigger grandad a while back. HORRIBLE fish. Destroy baits, lures and apparently are horrible to eat. Not to mention the teeth!

Even smaller spangled emporer. Not bad to eat!

If your going to genuinely eat them, its no different from eating steak or chicken. Next time you get stuck into a nice steak, are you going to say to yourself "shame the cow had to die for me to enjoy this feast"?

Wasting fish and killing for "glory" is the other side of the coin.. If your not going to eat it, plenty of (correct) ways to release them alive. Scientific research has proven they will survive.

20 years ago there were no such thing as bag or size limits and people acted accordingly. IMHO its the reason why there are SFA fish left in the metro area. Its 2008, times are a changin and both the recreactional and commercial industries are being better managed! The Egyption's have it right, we just have to learn a bit from them!

agreed, if you eat them that's fine IMO. just saying they are spectacular looking in shape/colour etc and it's a shame something like that isn't left alone..
