Default McRae cruise video tips

Updated for Heros cruise 2013.

Firstly thanks to Dave for organising the coming Heros cruise.

As usual I will be looking to record footage and cobble a video
together with the help of the usual suspects . To help there
are a few tips you can take on board on the day.

1 - As always, I am happy to take donations of HD footage if you
have a camera on the go during the event. I can post the memory
cards back to you during the week. Feel free to do some imaginative
shooting.

2 - Don't do anything stupid... especially in front of one of the cameras.
If you do something dumb, Dave and Police will be more than welcome to
have a copy of the footage.

3 - If your car is in frame while driving, don't accelerate off.
Cars that simply speed through the frame are edited out. It looks
like crap if your car is a blur. See below for a perfect shot of Daves
car where he kept a descent speed and allow me to position my car
for a great shot.

I know the last point appears obvious, but it is amazing how much footage that
has had to be dropped due to people accelerating hard when they're in shot.
If you like your car so much, clean it ready for the cruise and show it off
as much as you can.

See you all on the day.

Should I be looking out for any hidden cameras recording the said act in case of blackmail?

Yeppo. Varex will be present. I think Alex will have his by then. Sam
also has one on the custard mobile.

This should be re-afirmed at the start of the cruise. I did a photo shoto down here a few years ago as appart of a Brock memorial poker run. I was at the bottom of Rowlands, set up to take some panning shots. When the cars saw me, they slowed from 110km/hr to 70km/hr or so which ruined the shot. (It was a wet day, and I wanted the spray to be flying, showing movement not static cars)

Point number One, don't do something stupid/dodgy

Point Number Two, the photographer is expecting you to act in a normal way, unless specified earlier. They have the shot pre-planned in their mind, eg passing shot, the photographer passing you then steady, them falling back giving the impression of you slowing traveling at the same pace then taking off, when really youre sitting at the same speed.

Look at the photographer and take your ques from that, and enjoy the run.

*I do, however*
