My P&S has died and I'm getting a new phone, I'm hoping to replace my P&S with the phone. I'm not too cluey about what makes up a decent camera, I'm just going on various reviews. But they're all over the place. Every site I go to has a different opinion! I'm looking at getting a 5S, but have noticed the Xperia Z1, which seems to be pretty high specced and fairly well reviewed. The sensor apparently can be found in some of their P&S's which is impressive. It also performs well under lowlight conditions, something my previous Iphones has been pretty poor at. Anyone got any opinions on what would be the phone with the best camera? Oh not including Nokia as really don't want W8.

Basically go with whatever phone has the PHYSICALLY largest sensor in it.

Lumia 1020 hands down. 41MP. Sounds ridiculous but it does some oversampling stuff at squishes it down to 5mp shots. Will be good for night shots to with optical stabilization.

S4 has a great camera for daylight shots. Htc has good for night shots. Owned both. Good luck with your selection.

Experia Z1 should also be on the list.

i would go the new iphone. i havent used one yet but i have read very good things about the camera on them.

also MP are useless. they just make your photos take up more space. i take nearly all my photos in 6mp on my digital camera and that is more than large enough. as said above go for the larger sensor and better lens quality.

s4 has been my best so far...plus it has some pretty nice features like drama shots but im a samsung whore :3

it would be hard to beat Z1 at this stage if you are not into W8.
