Can I transfer the new model settings to the old model and expect the same behaviour?

Your initial older firmware assumption was correct.

If you copy the way your new v1 is programmed with your older version it will act the same. 'U' =K band On & 'u' = K band off.

There are a couple more letters which appear after the Euro X band mode but you don't need to worry about them they are for the US - ESP & Traffic Monitor filter for K band falsing in US caused by traffic monitoring equipment.

The 3.893 is more sensitive to LASER and K band than the 3.872 you may noticed a difference there. It also runs cooler (just an observation there).

Cheers,

If it's on "U" (being Euro) mode change to "u" mode by holding in main volume knob for couple of seconds. Turns off K band in Euro mode. Turn back to U mode for highway use.

All those K band alerts are mainly security alarms in the city.

It was like that on/off euro mode, so I tried the settings on that YouTube video everyone followed. Same/same. Any shopping centre, road work signs etc

Forget all that, just make sure you have a "u" instead of a "U"

I have a small 'l'. Think I'll play around with it over the weekend.
