Alot of food for thought, thanks a heap for all the comments. I have come across a cheap 6 spd from a S202 STI, do I need anything other then:

Gearbox
Diff
Tailshaft
Clutch kit

Lastnight I was giving the wrx some curry and busted 2nd year. I don't know weather its worthwhile doing a 5mt JDM STI upgrade which needs a rear diff to suit or just stick a stocker back...

I didn't even realize they are supposed to be there, mine must have been taken off when the skirts got painted originally, sits fine and no noises when driving.
